Melissa began nursing school in 1991 at Tarrant County College and graduated with an Associate’s degree. She began working for JPS in the NICU as well as Cook Children’s in Telephone Triage before joining KDJ Consultants as a contracted nurse reviewer in 2007. She held a variety of contract leadership roles with KDJ before joining full time as the Director of Compliance Management and HEDIS Clinical Manager. In 2015, she completed her Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree through Chamberlain College of Nursing with a focus on Informatics. In 2019, while completing her Master’s in Nursing Informatics, she developed and studied implementing a non-standard supplemental data set project for the Transitions of Care HEDIS measure. She then implemented it successfully in 2020. She enjoys spending time with her husband and eight dachshunds. She also has six grown children and two grandchildren. She enjoys traveling in their RV and raising quail.
